Modern approaches to antibacterial therapy of acute intestinal infections

S.O. Kramarov, L.V. Zakordonets

Abstract

Acute intestinal infections remain an urgent problem of medicine due to the high level of morbidity and mortality. There are nearly 1.7 billion cases of childhood diarrhoeal diseases every year. Each year, diarrhoea kills around 525,000 children under five years of age. The article provides recommendations for the treatment of acute intestinal infections based on the international guidelines.
