Severe case of toxoplasmosis in a child (clinical observation)

Abstract


The article presents a case of congenital toxoplasmosis in a child. Constant features of congenital toxoplasmosis are liver disease, swollen lymph nodes, enlarged spleen, meningoencephalitis (with the subsequent development of calcifications, seizures, hydrocephalus, mental retardation), eye da­mage. For the prevention of congenital toxoplasmosis, examination of women of childbearing age is necessary during family planning to exclude toxoplasmosis.
