Abstract

The paper presents the results of thorough examination of 100 newborns, clinical and immune features associated with early neonatal sepsis development. The most significant of them are prematurity, marginal birth weight parameters and invasive procedures and observations. It was shown that serum level of
C-reactive protein > 60.0 ml/l is significantly associated with sepsis risk in a newborn aged less than 48 hours with odds ration 1.9.
