Acute respiratory infection is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among children in the world, especially in young children. Solving the issue of the need to prescribe antibiotic therapy remains a difficult problem. Approaches to the treatment vary somewhat in different countries, depending on their economic status, the use of mass vaccination against pneumococcus and Haemophilus influenza b, and the local level of resistance to the major pathogens of respiratory infections. The article presents data of the international recommendations on antibacterial therapy of infections of the lower respiratory tract.Downloads
